Dalata Hotel Group Plc announces the opening of the Group’s fifth London hotel, Maldron Hotel Shoreditch bringing with it 45 new jobs to the area.
The 157-guestroom hotel is Dalata’s 23rd in the UK following recent openings in Brighton, Liverpool and Cathedral Quarter in Manchester. It is Maldron’s second hotel in London after Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park opened in November last year.
These five new hotels have created 217 jobs and added 1,029 guestrooms to Maldron Hotel’s UK portfolio and in total, Maldron Hotels now have 4,535 guestrooms across their 26 hotels.
Dalata also operates three additional hotels in the capital under its Clayton Hotels brand: Clayton Hotel City of London, Clayton Hotel Chiswick, and Clayton Hotel London Wall.
Maldron Hotel Shoreditch features the Group’s popular Grain & Grill bar and restaurant which serves a carefully chosen selection of favourite dishes, and a Red Bean Roastery coffee dock serving quality barista prepared coffee.
The hotel has obtained a sustainability certification that places it in the top 10% of new non-domestic buildings in the UK for best practice when it comes to its environmental performance, with a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Maldron Hotel Shoreditch’s General Manager, James Feeney said: “We are so proud to be opening a new Maldron Hotel in one of London’s coolest, most vibrant neighbourhoods. Unforgettable experiences start at Maldron Hotels and we are confident our guests will love our location.”
Dalata Hotel Group CEO, Dermot Crowley added: “We are excited to open Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, our fifth Dalata hotel in the city.
“Our expansion in the city is on-track with our strategy and London will remain a key location for us, given the significant opportunities the market presents.
“With the opening of Maldron Hotel Shoreditch, Dalata now has 5080 guestrooms in its UK portfolio. With continued success, our ambition is to add a further 4,420 guestrooms in the UK over time, growing our UK portfolio to 9,500 rooms.
“I want to express my gratitude to our development partners and our local team for their hard work behind the scenes in preparing the hotel to welcome our guests.”
