Ally Pasaprates has joined The Southgate Hotel, London, where she will take control of the day-to-day running of the venue in its run up to opening in early summer 2024.
It follows an investment in excess of £15 million to convert what was the offices for the Eveready battery brand into a 98-bedroom, four-star hotel.
With over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, Ally joins having previously been general manager at The Zedwell Hotel in Piccadilly. She also has extensive experience of managing and running hotels across the far east including venues in Bangkok, Thailand, Maldives and Cambodia.
She will now oversee final preparations in the run up to the hotel’s opening in addition to recruiting the 40 plus team.
Ally said: “I’m delighted to join The Southgate Hotel and look forward to opening later in the year. It’s a fabulous building that is steeped in history. It’s also in a great location and being a minutes’ walk from Southgate station will provide guests with easy access to the Piccadilly line into central London and the West End.
“We also have an on-site restaurant for those wanting something to eat and will also serve a range of exciting drinks. The hotel will also benefit from an outdoor terrace that can host over 40 covers.
“With a number of Studios that feature fully equipped kitchenettes makes the Southgate Hotel ideal for longer stays and also has a fitness suite for anyone who wants to burn off any excess energy.
“The area is also renowned for its speciality bakeries and home to the Greek and Cypriot communities giving it a real Mediterranean feel with its vast array of outdoor seating coffee shops.”
Being so close to Southgate station, its location is also perfect for those attending matches at both Arsenal and Tottenham football clubs as well as the famous Alexandar Palace.
An extensive car park for over 25 cars is ideal for those needing to drive and there will also be electric charging bays for guests to charge their vehicles.
There are also plans to open a mini spa offering a range of treatments to help guest unwind further.
