Peter Walker FIH MI, General Manager at Fonab Castle, Pitlochry has been appointed chair of the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) Scotland Region and Chris Eigelaar FIH, Resort Director at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, Sutton Coldfield has been elected chair of the Institute’s Midlands Region.
Speaking about his appointment in Scotland, Walker commented: “As a long-standing Fellow of the Institute and an existing member of the IoH Scotland Committee, I am delighted to be appointed regional chair by the Institute’s Nominations Committee.
“There is a great deal I want to achieve in Scotland on behalf of the IoH’s members, including collaborating with hospitality professionals across the Institute’s international network to promote hospitality careers in Scotland and help inspire new and existing hospitality talent to thrive. I am really looking forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead.”
Chris Eigelaar FIH appointed as the Midlands chair said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed chair of the Institute of Hospitality Midlands Region.
“As our dynamic sector continues to grow and evolve, being asked to chair a regional network of one of our industry’s most renowned and iconic institutions is inspiring.
“Having witnessed the impressive work of IoH in other regions, I look forward to supporting the committee and engaging with hospitality professionals to further raise the profile of our incredible industry here in the Midlands.”
All the Institute’s regional chairs are nominated and confirmed through a formal and independent Nominations Committee, IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI couldn’t be more delighted with the latest additions to the Institute’s network of regional talent.
Richardson said of the appointments: “Both Peter and Chris are exceptional leaders, and I am delighted that our regional members will be able to access and be inspired by both locally.
