Leonardo Hotels has announced the opening of its first hotel in Manchester, the Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly.
Opening soon, the hotel has already become known as the ‘Jenga’ building due to its striking exterior. Its distinctive design has seen Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly winning a design award from the Manchester Society of Architects before its even opened its doors.
The eye-catching exterior has been dressed in lush greenery to complement the surrounding Piccadilly East neighbourhood.
The new hotel’s design credentials continue inside the dramatic exterior. The interior is pared-back and modern, with muted tones and subtle design features throughout.
Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly comprises 275 en-suite bedrooms, appointed with Leonardo Hotels’ signature DREAM bed, designed for a peaceful night’s sleep, TVs, and spacious, well-lit desks.
The hotel will offer dining at its on-site bar and restaurant, Leo’s, serving food and drink throughout the day for dine-in, takeaway, and room service including a hot buffet breakfast to start the day.
The wellbeing of guests is a priority for the hotel team, so a new wellness suite will offer a space for yoga and meditation. A sanctuary from the busy urban setting, guests can partake in a personalised guided yoga session through the room’s smart TVs. The suite also allows us to step away from the pressures of modern life, with digital detox jars that lock away smart devices for complete relaxation.
Managing Director for Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK Jason Carruthers said of the news: “We are absolutely delighted to be opening our first Leonardo Hotel in Manchester.” The unique design of the hotel has seen a lot of interest in it before opening its doors which is wonderful, and we can’t wait to be able to welcome people inside and continue the conversation.”
The hotel is located in the new Piccadilly East neighbourhood, near Ancoats and the Northern Quarter and close to the city centre with excellent transport links. Piccadilly Station is just 0.5 miles from the hotel, with Manchester Airport under 30 minutes away, making the city accessible from Liverpool and London.
