Señor Ceviche is a lively Peruvian restaurant and cocktail bar located in Soho’s Kingly Court, renowned for serving punchy pisco cocktails alongside street food snacks, super fresh ceviche, and fiery Peruvian barbecue. Founded by Harry Edmeades, and inspired by extensive travels and research trips across Peru, Señor Ceviche first opened in 2014, following a series of hugely successful pop-ups throughout the Capital.
The menus at Señor Ceviche showcase the diverse flavours and cooking techniques of Peru, with the seasonally changing dishes designed to be shared and enjoyed with friends, family, and colleagues. Guests can enjoy snacks or ‘Para Picar’ including Chifa Chicharrones of slow-cooked crispy pork belly with sweet soy sauce; and Aubergine Picarones of sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts with aioli and roasted peanuts. The restaurant’s eponymous ceviches include the Clasíco with sea bream, aji limo tiger’s milk, sweet potato puree, choclo corn, red onion, coriander and plantain; as well as The Spaniard, incorporating king prawns, aji rocotto tiger’s milk and crispy chorizo; and BBQ Jerusalem Artichoke Ceviche with samphire and confit tomato.
An extensive range of Peruvian barbecue dishes also appear on the menus at Señor Ceviche, such as Cusco Quail marinated in aji panca and served with tamarind yoghurt; Nikkei Pulpo of kombu grilled octopus with nikkei chimichurri and sweet potato causa; and Pachamanca Pork Ribs with yakiniku sauce and roasted peanuts. These rich, fiery barbecue dishes are perfect served alongside Señor Ceviche’s Frijoles Negros; and Quinoa Soltero with edamame, grilled sweetcorn, tofu, and coriander vinaigrette. To finish, guests can enjoy desserts such as Tarta de Chancaca with milk ice cream; and Passion Fruit and White Chocolate Cheesecake with chicha morada syrup.
The creative drinks menu at Señor Ceviche has been designed to showcase the versatile and diverse spirit of Pisco, a clear Peruvian brandy, the origins of which date back to 1613 when Spanish settlers first brought grape vines to Peru. Featured on the menu are ‘Casa Clasicos’ such as the Pisco Sour with Machu Pisco, lime juice, egg white and Chuncho bitters; and the Yapa Sandía with papaya and mango infused Machu Pisco, lime juice and watermelon. Guests can also sample ‘Señor’s Signatures’, including the Barranco Babe; Cusco Chela; and South Pacific Spritz, as well as ice-cold Cusqueña, and a range of wines and non-alcoholic cocktails.
From Monday to Thursday, 12-5pm, the Lima Lunch offers guests a choice of Quinoa Croquettas; Anticucho de Res; or BBQ Jerusalem Artichoke, served alongside any drink or side. Also from Monday to Thursday, 5-6.30pm, the Señor Ceviche Pisco Power Hour sees a range of cocktails, including the Uncle Pastuzo; Peruvian Pasíon; and Pisco Punch.
The interiors at Señor Ceviche have been designed to reflect the lively and vibrant environment of urban Lima. Patterned tiles brighten the floors and street-art posters line the walls, while the Latin-inspired playlist completes the contemporary Peruvian dining experience.
