Preoday, a UK-based cloud technology company, is launching a free app that allows consumers to order and pay for food, drinks, and other merchandise via their mobile devices from their favourite food and drink outlets.
Launch partners
Launch partners include Barbecue restaurant group Bodean’s, who have sites in Clapham, Fulham, Soho and Tower Hill and who will be trialing the app; Europe’s largest multi-arts and conference venue, The Barbican managed by Searcys, where theatre goers can arrange their interval drinks with their mobile phone; and Football League Championship club Burnley has also partnered and is offering its fans the option to pre-order food & drink before the game, or at half time, via the iPie app.
Streamline and speed up take away and home delivery
Andre Blais, Owner of Bodean’s says “It’s a fascinating tool which can streamline and speed up our take away and home delivery services via an exciting App. They are a low cost base operator with software and an App that has been long awaited in our sector.”
Burnlet FC: 108% increase in spend
The Preoday free app for pre-ordering drinks and food has been up and running as the own-branded i-Pie app for Burnley FC since the summer.
Key i-Pie stats from the first 9 matches:
- 108% – Increase in Actual Customer spend on i-Pie app against budgeted cash spend
- 1.6 – Average number of customers per i-Pie order (i.e. taken out of cash queue)
- 25.7 seconds – Service time of app order at collection point
- 33.5% – Compound growth in number of orders over 9 matches
- 44% – Average open rate of direct mailing to Burnley (i-Pie) app users
Your own branded app
Preoday’s easy to use online service allows businesses to create their own branded app in approximately 30 minutes. The completed app is published on the app store and then marketed by the business to their customers as a new service – there is no brand disintermediation as with other mobile order apps. Preoday also believe that this service should be free to all food businesses, regardless of their size.
Preoday is built on a robust technology, which means that on top of helping consumers beat queues, Preoday aims to provide businesses with a ‘marketing engine’ allowing them to interact with their customers in real-time. This means they are able to set up loyalty programmes, tailor special offers and make suggestions for each specific user.
Andrew White, Chief Executive of Preoday, says:
“It is clear that mobile is the channel of choice for consumers everywhere; however the technology, setup costs and the complexity of integrating mobile within existing food & drink operations have proven daunting for many businesses. Preoday exists to help food businesses address these challenges – we believe that even the smallest food outlets should be able to provide their customers with a mobile offering.
“For time-poor consumers the launch of Preoday will be hugely positive. It allows commuters to buy a coffee as their train pulls into the station, order their lunch whilst at their desk, get a round of drinks in for their friends at the bar whilst en route and order their half time food at that night’s football before they arrive at the stadium.
